I ask that you keep all brothers and sisters in your thoughts and prayers that will be affected by yesterdays announcements by General Motors to close More plants. Having recently spent some time at the Willow Run Assembly plant I am still amazed at how easy it is for these auto companies to wipe plants, dealers and communities away with one announcement. President Don Skidmore (local 735 GM-Willow Run Assembly ) has fought along with his elected team, local and state politicians and his members and Retirees to make their best business case to the company and despite their tireless commitment received word they will close.
In an email yesterday Ford President Alan Mulally stated "At this time, we do not expect any major disruptions to our operations as a result of today’s news."
